Jasmine Ma is a self-taught artist who transitioned from a successful career in the interior design arena to pursue her passion for painting. Her previous experiences hone her understanding of spatial dynamics and aesthetic balance which she now applies to her creations. Jasmine’s works feature minimalistic abstract interpretations of space and life experiences that evoke the feeling of depth and dimension. She enjoys experimenting with mixed media, combining acrylics, inks and pastels to create depth in her pieces.
Jasmine’s latest Memory Lane Series is a nostalgic journey through one’s past experiences and memories. Walking down the memory lane will evoke feelings of sentimentality and reflection, often bringing to mind cherished moments, significant events, or relationships that have shaped who we are. Memory lane invites us to reconnect with our personal history and the emotions tied to it.
“When I create this series, I use my favorite color black with quick strokes to “abstractise” the nostalgic journey. The dazzle of gold shimmers are moments that we experienced and treasured, I think of smiles of my mother, that flash moment when one knows that she/he falls in love or maybe when one overcomes the difficulties and see the lights ahead.” says Jasmine Ma.
Jasmine’s works are collected by collectors from Italy, Belgium and Hong Kong. At present Jasmine lives and works in Hong Kong.
