“The Colourful World of Marc Chagall”, an exhibition of artworks by one of the most important artists of the 20th century from 31 March to 17 April, 2017. The exhibition showcased limited edition lithographs, including rarely exhibited original lithographs from Chagall’s “The Story of Exodus” Illustration Suite. While many of his peers such as Picasso and Matisse pursued ambitious experiments that led often to abstraction, Chagall believed in the power of figurative art that he maintained despite absorbing ideas from Fauvism, Surrealism and Cubism. His poetic, dreamlike style distinguishes him from other artists in the Modern Period. Click here to learn more about Marc Chagall.
